This month we'll be doing a tiny bit of reading along with the usual assignments
You are expected to read 'The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint Exupéry in English (or French, though reading it in French may be a tad difficult for a few!)
Along with the usual reflection(s) that may find their place on your respective blogs, you are also expected to put in an essay (1000 words). What you must do is reflect on any one chapter of the book that you liked and include the following elements in your essay - - Bring out the different ways of knowing in that chapter alone - Look for different areas of knowledge that you could link a certain knowledge issue (that you are working on) to - Justify your choice of the chapter selected. Which personal experiences came to your mind while you were exploring a certain knowledge issue?
Let us not forget that an essay must not be written as if you are merely replying to questions. Your ideas, thoughts, examples must be inter-mingled so beautifully, that they flow and sing melodiously.
I'll be checking your blogs by April 30, 2009 for all your assignments ... Happy TOKing! :)
This blog has been created for a Theory of Knowledge class of students of tutor group 5 who are studying at B.D.Somani International School, Mumbai.
The objective of creating this blog is to encourage students to look at the world and her affairs through the TOK lens. Students may therefore choose at least one reflective journal entry that they have made over a month and add that to the blog. Their journal entry could be based on a certain topic that has been dealt with in class, or on any topic that has recently caught their interest or their fancy. Moreover, they must be in constant touch with my blog, which may have a few questions that they must answer.
From teaching at primary school up to university, I have had a bit of teaching experience... and a lot of studying experience. But in my time out, nothing excites me more than planning a trip somewhere beyond where my mind and books can take me.
